2023 Moot Fest

Dictum’s Moot Fest 2023

What is Mooting?

Mooting is a mock legal proceeding in the form of an academic activity. It helps increase your understanding of legal concepts and put them into practice. Mooting is also a great way to up your confidence for all walks in life.

If you refer to the additional materials on the right below the Rules & Problem, you will find helpful material that will further explain the fundamentals of Mooting and techniques you can use as well.

The Moots constitutes a case held privately before an independent panel with teams representing either the lawyers of the Claimant or the Respondent. Teams have an allocated time to present their Client's perspective to the Tribunal, using the Statement of Facts and Exhibit found in the Moot Problem/s.

This year, you will be able to select which competition you would like to participate in. You will have 4 options to choose from and they are;

  • Junior Moot (For first time mooters but not limited to)

  • Senior Moot (For more experienced mooters but not limited to)

  • Criminal Law Moot (For our Criminal Law lovers)

  • Negotiations Moot (Perfect for those who have a passion to negotiate)

You choose which one you would like to compete in, and if you wanted to take a shot at more than 1 or attempt all 4 you then are more than welcome to do so. At the end of the competition - you will receive an acknowledgement certificate which would look amazing on your resume for future references.
